Masha Kaluzhskaya Weitz

 

Founder and Head Coach: Masha Kaluzhskaya Weitz - is a two-time National Champion of Russia. She holds the title of Master of Sports International Class, which is the second highest rank given to athletes in Russia.

 

Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1984, Masha started her gymnastics career at the age of 7 and has won many medals and titles before she retired at the age of 16 to focus on education. Her achievements include multiple Regional, Moscow, National, and International Championship titles. As a member of the Russian National Team, Masha practiced and competed against the best gymnasts in the country at the time, such as Olga Belova, Zarina Gizikova, Leysyan Utyasheva, Maria Stolbova, Yulya Barsukova, Yana Batirshina, and many more. In her career she also captured a victory over Olympic Champion, Alina Kabaeva.

 

After Masha retired from Rhythmic Gymnastics she attended Russian State University of Physical Culture Sports and Tourism, where she majored in Performing Arts with a minor in Physical Education. She graduated with honors in 2008 being awarded a "Red Diploma" (equivalent of Dean's List). Following graduation Masha began work as a Competitive Team Coach in San Diego. She has been involved in Rhythmic Gymnastics for over 20 years and has been coaching over 8 years. Her passion and energy for the sport can be seen through her interaction with her gymnasts. Masha's gymnasts have seen excellent results, with many top 10 finishes at State, Regional, and Junior Olympic tournaments.

Frederique Rosse

 

Frederique Rosse is a former Swiss National Team rhythmic gymnast with extensive experience in development and teaching of Rhythmic Gymnastics programs. As a gymnast she won two individual National Championships and competed internationally. Frederique received the highest degree of coaching certification from the Swiss National Sport Center. She served as a member of the National Swiss Gymnastics Committee and designed a novel Rhythmic Gymnastics compulsory program to support the continuing education of gymnasts and coaches. She founded and was head coach of several Rhythmic Gymnastics Schools located in Switzerland and in the USA (California, Arizona). She also introduced and taught Rhythmic Gymnastics in dance studios in Arizona and Pennsylvania. Under her coaching guidance, many individual gymnasts and groups won Swiss national titles. She is proud of several of her gymnasts advancing into the Swiss Rhythmic Gymnastics National Team. She loves to teach, coach and share her expertise and passion for rhythmic gymnastics.

Masha Koveckaya

 

Maryia Kavetskaya is a teacher and choreographer, a ballet artist of the highest rank. After graduating from the Belarusian choreographic College, she spent 8 years dancing for the National Academic Folk Ballet of the Republic of Belarus. She has also worked in a children's dancing collective «Solnishki» as a choreographer and private instructor. Masha has 8 years teaching dance to children.

Mia Lian Delgadillo

 

Mia Lian Delgadillo is our receptionist and coach for our beginner girls. Her job is to teach them the basic technique of ballet and rhythmic gymnastics. She was born on September 25, 1995 in Wuhan, China from where she was adopted. She lived in Lompoc, California where she first began studying ballet and artistic gymnastics at the age of four. Mia moved to San Diego a year later where she first fell in love with figure skating. She began skating recreationally at San Diego Ice Arena, and then switched to Escondido Iceplex. In 2009 she joined Del Norte High Schools cheer team and stayed with them until 2011. The team won many competitions including, Best in the West Cheer and Dance Championships in Long Beach in 2010 and the American Cheer and Dance Championships in Anaheim in 2010 and more. She also did tumbling privates with coach Phi Nguyen at Bounce California and TTC. Mia also had to opportunity to work with many great cheer coaches including Jennifer Long owner of Cheer Force All Stars and coach at San Diego State University. In the Summer before her junior year she retired from competitive cheerleading in order to focus on school. She is is currently attending California State University San Marcos studying Psychology. 

Miki Jennings

 

Miki was born in Nagano, Japan and grew up practicing classical ballet and gymnastics until the 90's fitness boom drew her attention in another direction.  Diving into the world of fitness competitions, she became the national representative for Japan and earned 4th Place in Worlds in 1993.  The next year, Miki returned to her roots and moved to New York city to study classic and modern dance again at Alvin Ailey Dance Academy.  She was inspired to enter the world of ballroom dance while under the instruction of Cate Caplin (adagio champion) for the stage production of Camelot.  She has been teaching, training, and competing in show dance ballroom with her partner Dan Gibbons, and they received the 2011 California Open Showdance Champion title.  She is delighted to be a part of champion rhythmics academy, and passing her passion and knowledge with young athletes.
