PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Vera is currently employed as a 4th grade teacher at East St. Louis School District #189. She is responsible for educating students in the core curriculum of reading, language, science math and social studies. She was also employed as a 2nd grade teacher for St. Louis Public Schools.
Vera has several years as a tutor. She was Site Coordinator for Ace It Tutoring/Sylvan. She was responsible for the everyday operations of after –school tutoring which includes weekly payroll, program supplies, as well as the supervision of at least 14 employees and 100 students. In addition to Site Coordinator, Vera was Lead Teacher. As Lead Teacher, she was responsible for supervising six-ten teachers and 45-70 students during after-school tutoring. Vera also tutored as Educate, Inc. She worked as a Supplemental Service Provider/After-School Tutor. She was responsible for tutoring small groups of students in reading (grade levels 3-5)
