Hello! I’m Cheryl Benbow Thomas, Founder of Women’s Association of

Social Professioonals, Inc. known as “WASP,” a networking association

for women in business that offer non-profit educational services to enhance

the lives of women in the community and the corporate world.

The WASP members and I embrace the opportunity to offer women an afternoon

Vendor Fair of socializing, networking, specialty shopping, indulging, and acquiring knowledge

to better the mind, body, and soul. WASP serves business women through prearranged

networking functions and hands-on business events and instructions to start, enhance

and promote entrepreneurship.

MISSION STATEMENT: WASP’s mission is to serve as a development business that offers women

a means to start, enhance, or promote their own small businesses. WASP is dedicated to

supporting the lives of women in the community and the women in the corporate

world by offering educational presentations that promote women’s entrepreneurship, good health,

fitness, wellness, financial growth, and self-awareness. Its focus is on improving the totality of

women, enhancing their spiritual, physical, and emotional growth. WASP members believe that

putting forth a team effort in helping women better themselves will in turn strengthen, improve,

and enrich the community we serve.

The WASP Website is a monthly periodical designed to inform and educate women through viewing the following Tabs:

  • Membership Tab include WASP member photos and job titles and various member business websites. The WASP Membership Application and WASP Membership Bylaws are linked within.

  • Advertisement Tab is where WASP members may advertise their businesses for free;

  • Health Tip Tab is shared health & wellness tips to promote women’s health;

  • Recipe Fitness Tab offers nutritional, ‘diabetic friendly’ balanced meal recipes;

  • Training Tab is an invitation to WASP-sponsored Self Defense Classes & Financial Growth instructions or other training and events;

  • Writer’ Wing Tab displays written articles or material from WASP members who are not necessarily business owners yet caring, supportive, and intellectual individuals offering personal inspirational stories and heartwarming messages that empower women to be strong, and knowledgeable;

  • Event Calendar Tab is a schedule of WASP members’ free-of- charge events where each member publicly exhibits their product/services;

  • Photo Gallery Tab is WASP’s, historical account of photographs taken throughout the WASP journey to help women better themselves;

  • Contact Us Tab 7-days-a-week, 24-hour online availability to website viewers for reaching WASP officials.

To better serve women in the community, I’ve established a support group service entitled Support4Women. This group entails WASP members who want to make an extra team effort to go out into the community and offer free educational presentations that will promote women’s entrepreneurship, good health, fitness, wellness, financial growth, and self-awareness. These services are geared at bettering the lives of women in the community and the corporate world. The WASP Breast Cancer Support Group has been established within this group and will be launched in 2014.

As the WASP Founder, I function as a business promoter and event coordinator. Within the Support4Women Services, I arrange bi-annually vendor fairs and quarterly business networking parties for promoting successful entrepreneurships. WASP Vendor Fair is when Independent Consultants, Distributors, Manufacturers', Trainers, Developers, Instructors, and other businesses exhibit their products/services to potential customers. This exhibition creates an environment for women to network, socialize, specialty products/services shop, and/or participate in various personal or fitness trainings.

My motivation for establishing this sisterhood and support service is based on the high volume of women who experience job loss, the many low-/no--income single mothers, the high number of women dying from health issues (i.e. breast cancer, diabetes, and heart attacks) and the many women living  without companionship or support from other people. My spiritual upbringing has bestowed upon me a need to discover a way to contribute to women within these difficult circumstances. I founded both WASP & Support4Women to offer women possibilities to conquer those and other challenging conditions or to learn ways to deal with them.

I maintain a strong belief in a team work ethic. When people join together, support, and help each other to reach a certain goal, the end result is enormously successful. Helen Keller stated, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” In today’s world, we are dealing with tough economic times. In order to survive these difficult periods in life, I invite talented and skilled women to come together and work as a team.

The WASP experience offers:

  • Business women the opportunity to network, to advertise, to receive positive public exposure, to financially gain, to increase clientele and/or to teach, to support, to empower, to share ideas, and to inspire each other to become successful business entrepreneurs.

  • All women a time to enjoy, relax, be pampered, socialize, shop, and acquire knowledge to better the mind, body, and soul.

If you are interested in attending a WASP Event, becoming a member/vendor, or receiving more information, please contact us by sending us an email from the contact us tab. We look forward to hearing from you.
